How do I know the fish is fresh?
There are some easy steps to understand if your fish is fresh!
-         The Skin should be bright & shiny. Be wary of dull looking fish!
-         The eyes should be clear & bulgy. Avoid the fish if the eyes are cloudy or sunken
-         Fresh fish doesn’t smell sour or ammonia like. If it smells fresh it is fresh!
-         You can check its gills too, if they are red it’s fresh, if its discolored or brown, avoid it!
-         The fish fillet should be firm and shiny. Any milky appearance usually means a bad fish!
-         The flesh of the fish when pressed should not sink in, it should immediately spring up! Touch the belly of the fish to see if it’s decently firm! A soft belly usually means a bad fish!

How do I store fresh fish?
Any fish right after purchase should be put on ice or refrigerated if to be used the same day. If your storing it for use a day or two later, make sure you wrap it up in plastic and keep it in the deep fridge! Avoid storing fresh fish for more than 2-3 days. Give us a call instead and order fresh fish whenever you need it!

If I buy 1kg of fish, how much do I exactly get?
Unless you are buying “fry cut” varieties of fish you will get some amount of wastage (scales/gut/tail/fins/shell) in your fresh seafood. If you’re looking to get a particular quantity of fish let us know so we can get you what you want! Why should I eat fish?
Seafood is the perfect way to keep yourself healthy. Experts at the British Nutrition Foundation quoted, "We should be eating at least two portions of seafood every week, at least one of which should be oil-rich. Seafood is good for every part of your body - from head to toe".
Heart Oil rich fish contains Omega 3 fatty acids, a type of polyunsaturated fat that has a lowering effect on blood cholesterol levels. Omega 3 protects the heart and circulation and can reduce the risk of heart disease. Vitamin E, an antioxidant found in shellfish, aids the formation and use of red blood cells.
Muscles - All seafood is packed with protein, essential for the growth and maintenance of muscles and body tissues.
Oil rich fish has lots of Vitamin D, necessary for strong bones and teeth.

Fresh Frozen Seafood & Ready-to-Cook Products

What do you mean by Ready-to-cook seafood?
We’ve done the prep, you take the glory. Just fry or heat them for 2 to 5 min and your dish is ready to be served.

What if I can’t use the entire pack of ready to cook product?
Put it back in the packet and store it in your freezer. Don’t forget to consume the remaining half in a month. If you consume the remaining half after a month its taste might change though quality wise it won’t be harmful. We suggest not keeping open packets in freezers for more than a month though as the electricity boards are not very kind. Thawing and freezing the products in open is not a suggested way of handling your products.

Once opened, in how much time should I consume the product?
Only the time you will take for frying or heating. Don’t consume it if you keep it put and it’s thawed. Kindly keep it back in the freezer and use it once it is frozen. Don’t thaw the ready-to-cook products before frying or heating.

Do I have to defrost the ready-to-cook products?
NOOO!!! Just put it out and use it on your frying pan!

What is the shelf life of your ready-to-cook products?
Till you get bored of seeing it in your freezer!! The shelf-life though varies from brand to brand but on average its 1 to 2 years. There are only few products which have a shorter shelf life (close to 6 months) but we have mentioned it in our product description page.

How much time does it take to cook these products?
It takes a maximum of 5 mins to cook any of our products. You will find the cooking directions on the packets of our products to get your favorite dish in less than 5 min.

What does ‘Fresh Frozen’ mean?
'Fresh Frozen' is the term used for fish frozen within a very short time after being caught. Often fresh fish is NOT fresh as it may have sat on ice for up to a week. Our fish is frozen immediately locking in freshness and flavour. Seafood should be frozen as soon as possible after being caught. However, you can actually ruin some species of fish by freezing it too quickly (too cold) as it bursts the cells in the flesh. You can freeze it too slowly as well. The best temperature is -40ºc with a -23ºc core temperature in less than 5 hours. If you take two pieces of fish and clank them together after freezing, they should sound like striking two pieces of glass together.

How do I defrost seafood?
If seafood products are vacuum-sealed in a plastic bag, place them in a sink with cold running water until thawed. If your fish is wrapped in plastic or just raw, place it on a plate in the refrigerator, cover with cling film the night before you want to cook it, and let it thaw. Water in direct contact with a raw product will wash away the color and flavor of seafood.

What is the shelf life of vacuum-packed and frozen seafood?
Seafood products that are vacuum-sealed are in an air-free environment, thus they are protected from dehydration or freezer burn. If the package keeps its integrity, the quality should remain the same as the day the product was packaged. All seafood, if stored properly in a freezer, can be stored for up to 1 year though we suggest all our products to be consumed within 6-8 months to ensure optimum satisfaction.

Can I change the delivery date?
Order amendments cannot be dealt online - you'll need to call us on +91 703080 8899 or email contact.fishamigo@gmail.com. Note: any amendment can only be done within one hour of placing the order.

Can I cancel my Order?
We trust you and understand that there might be situations when you need to cancel the order which is placed. But our system also needs to know it hence we request you to call us one day prior to your scheduled delivery before 7.30pm so we can easily cancel your order.

How and when do you deliver?
We deliver our products personally to make sure that you get your fish fresh and in time. We deliver the fish to your doorstep according to your chosen slot when ordering from Tuesday to Sunday! We take an off on Mondays!

Is there a minimum order?
There is no minimum order. We just charge extra delivery charges for orders below INR 350/-.

Do you deliver on the same day?
Yes, Of Course!  Delivery slots are chosen by you & if within the time limits we can easily deliver your seafood to you the same day itself!

Where do you deliver?
We support almost all the pin codes of Pune.

Are the prices inclusive of tax?
Yes, the stated prices are inclusive of tax.

What happens if I am out when my order is delivered?
Orders are dispatched according to your chosen delivery slots. So in case you still missed being there on time, you can call us & we’ll figure out a way to meet you and your fish (extra delivery charges applicable)!

What if I am not happy with your fish? What does you Guarantee mean?
As long as you ask us nicely and tell us what the problem was, we will always refund or replace any fish you are unhappy about without quibbling. Your credit card or your account with us - at your choice - will be credited with the relevant amount. Please contact us on +91 703080 8899 within an hour of delivery.

How do I find my account password?
